Douglas Kirkland is an award-winning celebrity photographer. Between 1960 and 2013 he photographed over 2,000 assignments and more than 600 major celebrities-from Elizabeth Taylor to Marilyn Monroe, Hugh Jackman, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Nicole Kidman.
His books include Freeze Frame (2007), Coco Chanel: Three Weeks (2008), the New York Times #1 best-selling James Cameron’s Titanic (1997), Michael Jackson the Making of Thriller (2010), With Marilyn (2012). His next book is a monograph on his career “A Life in Pictures”, released in the fall of 2013.
Douglas Kirkland’s photographs have been exhibited throughout the world and are included in the permanent collections of a number of Museums.
The Douglas Kirkland Archive is a repository of Hollywood celebrity and popular culture during the last half century. When he is not traveling around the world on assignment, Douglas Kirkland ‘s home is in the Hollywood Hills with his wife and business partner Françoise.
